Organizational Levels
Several of the settings that are defined for the application can be set up as general settings, for groups of companies or separately for each company.
- The settings defined for general system level are the same for all companies.
- The settings defined for company groups are available for companies within the relevant company group.
- The settings defined for companies are only used in the relevant company.
The settings with different types can be set for different levels, for example, archiving the delay settings should be made on the general level whereas the voucher types are set for individual companies.
If specific settings have been defined for a company, the company group specific settings or general settings are not relevant for the company. If the company group has defined settings, the general settings are not relevant for the group. The General settings are used by those companies which have no defined company or company group settings. Briefly, the application uses the most specific settings that have been entered.
You should always define settings for the general level unless you need to enter company specific exceptions. The maintenance of general settings is the easiest, because the changes only need to be made once. If the settings are defined for individual companies, the changes must be made for each company. If you define the settings for the company level, in order to be clear, define individual settings for all companies instead of defining settings for some of them and leaving the rest of them with general settings.
